Ellie C is a forthcoming independent resource for Howard County families. Our mission is to connect you with the information you need to thrive in one of the wealthiest counties in the United States.
In a world where information is fed to us through a fire hose, Ellie C prefers to be a conduit. We connect you to the information and resources you need, when you need it, to help you take care of your family – and yourself.
Ellie C is much more than a website. Before we offer anything of value, we are taking the time to listen to the needs of Howard County families and will bring you into the design process of our resources. We don't know best about what you need – you do.
Want to shape the future of Howard County?
We are setting up co-design sessions through summer 2026 with Howard County families, civic organizations, and businesses.
If you are interested in participating, please email hello at elliec dot com.
Why Ellie C?
Ellie C is short for Ellicott City, the county seat of Howard County, Maryland.
C is also for Caboose. As you meander down Main Street, you'll eventually encounter a shiny red caboose perched atop the hillside of the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) Ellicott City Station Museum. Built in 1927 and recently restored, the Caboose is a symbol of resilience, infrastructure, and childhood play.
Who is behind Ellie C?
Amanda Kennedy is a service designer who cares deeply about facilitating equitable access to basic needs like childcare and housing.
